The trajectory of Russian missiles towards infrastructure in western Ukraine, on the border with Moldova, is meticulously set, said Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatyi. In an interview with IPN, he noted that the Russian army chooses the trajectory, relief and proximity to the borders of the Republic of Moldova when launching projectiles, targeting infrastructure and military objectives in western Ukraine.
The minister referred to the recent case that happened in Bîrnova village of Ocnița district. Then, locals reported that Russian missiles flew over Moldovan airspace and that noise accompanied by bangs was heard.
"The boom followed the interception of a missile by Ukraine's air defense as the projectile was flying close to the border with Moldova. As for the penetration of the Moldovan airspace, it is difficult to establish the boundaries in localities situated close to the border," said Minister Anatolie Nosatyi.
In another development, the official noted that an imminent military danger to the security of the Republic of Moldova is unlikely at present, judging by the situation on the war front in Ukraine.
However, the minister warns, "Moldova remains vulnerable to incidents related to the violation of airspace, which is, first of all, against international rules and, most importantly, poses a danger to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova."
