Norway will finance a development project of small and medium enterprises support infrastructure from Republic of Moldova
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has signed on Friday, October 27, an Agreement and Cooperation Memorandum with the Industrial and Scientific Research Foundation within the Norway Technologic Institute (ISRFNTI) regarding the start of the Development of small and medium enterprises support infrastructure (SME) from Republic of Moldova.
The memorandum was signed by the ministry of Economy and commerce Igor Dodon and the ISRFNTI general director, Morten Muus Falck.
The objective of the project is to create new work positions and to reduce poverty by supporting SME development in Moldova.
The goal of the project is to consolidate the capabilities of SME on all levels, to offer support of the public-private partnership relations, to assure support in creating new business incubators and support of existing ones.
The project is planned for 2006-2010 and is divided into 4 stages. In the first stage, 2006-2007 is preparation for the project implementation. The task is to establish the headquarters of the project in Chisinau, the test business incubator, visit all existing business centers and to analyze favorable locations for ENTRANSE business incubators.
The second stage, 2007-2008, will be the establishment of the staff and basis for the full implementation of the Project. The third stage, 2008-2009, will target consolidation of the founded institutions, associations, their networks and a second incubator will be founded. The last stage, 2009-2010 is a finalization period that will concentrate on assuring the project’s stability, and will offer support for institutions from Republic of Moldova in establishing international relations.
The budget of the project will be EUR 200 thousand for the first phase (October 2006 - May 2007). The project will be financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway.
