The fielding of Vlad Plahotniuc for the post of Prime Minister by the PDM represents defiance of the common sense, said experts invited to the program “Place for dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.

Journalist Valeriu Saharneanu, former Liberal- Reformist MP, considers the PDM plays with the fire by insisting on Plahotniuc’s candidacy and hopes that President Timofti will not yield to the PDM’s blackmail. ”The nomination of Plahotniuc for premiership could lead to much larger protests than those mounted in summer. This is a method used by Plahotniuc to gain complete control. We hope that when time comes Nicolae Timofti will show character and will not yield to the blackmail of the PDM,” he stated.

Director of the Center for Political Research and Consultancy Anatol Taranu stated a similar opinion. “It is evident that the Democratic Party wants Plahotniuc to become Prime Minister, despite the risks faced by this party. This step forms part of a longer plan of action for bring the whole country under control. The nomination of a person with the worst rating in the country is defiance of the common sense,” he said.
