The recipients of merit allowances who were awarded the Order of the Republic and who live in Moldova will be entitled to a nominal monthly state allowance of 500 lei. This is provided in one of the bills adopted by the Government by avoiding passage through Parliament, IPN reports.

The nominal monthly state allowance for special merits towards the state will be paid by the National House of Social Insurance from the state budget. The informative note to the law says the goal is to step up the social protection measures covering the persons with special merits towards the state who were conferred the Order of the Republic and receive merit allowances.

Currently, 22 of the 200 recipients of merit allowances are holders of the Order of the Republic. A sum of 132,000 lei will be allocated from the 2019 state budget for paying such nominal allowances.
