On October 20, when the presidential election and the referendum on enshrining the European course in the country’s Constitution will be held in the Republic of Moldova, there will be no exit-poll, which is an electoral poll conducted immediately after voters leave polling booths.
Contacted by IPN for details, Rodica Sîrbu, head of the Communication, Public Relations and Media Department of the Central Election Commission, said that requests to conduct an exit poll were not received by the October 13 deadline.
If a runoff of the presidential election is held, applications for the exit-poll can be submitted until October 27.
The last time, an exit-poll was carried out in the Republic of Moldova in the second round of the 2020 presidential election. At that time, the public association “Spero” and the company “Intellect Group” SRL conducted such an exercise at 100 polling stations in the country.
