The streets of Chisinau on September 30 turned into a huge running track that involved thousands of enthusiasts. These tested their strength by taking part in the fourth Chisinau International Marathon, IPN reports.
According to the organizers, the running event started with warmup exercises at 8am. The competition involved 18,000 persons. The athletes in wheelchairs were the first to set out. A special category entitled “Marathon for All” in the 10 km, 21 km and 42 km distances was introduced for them for the first time this year.
The general start was made at 9.am. The participants covered the following distances: marathon (42 km 195 m), half marathon (21 km 0975 m), 10 km and 5 km and the 1.5 km recreational race “Fun Run By Iute Credit”. All the participants in the Chisinau International Marathon received by a medal at the end, while the champions also won prizes and money awards. The prize money came to 100,000 lei.
The winners in the 5 km race were Ivanchenko Vladislav, Pavlenko Nicolae, Voloshchuk Alexandru, Botnari Mihaela, Tkachova Iuliana and Ruliac Inna. The 10 km race was won by Chiriac Petru, Țimbalist Gennady, Crivoi Andrei, Ciocan Daniela, Budiuc Cristina and Nastas Diana. The fastest in the 21 km race were Răileanu Maxim, Croitoru Liviu, Obuhovschi Aleksei, Carmanenko Ecaterina, Zbîrnea Natalia and Sacara Zinaida.
The winners in the 42 km race were Serem Benjamin Kiprop, Gorbushko Nicolai, Popov Sergey, Masnâc Irina, Mahamud Isidro Pilar and Alexandra Kirillov, while in the 10 km race – Martsinkevich Alexandru and Costin Dumitru. The “Marathon for All” in the 10 km Handbike race was won by Petroșan Cătălin, while in the 10 km category by Frankiv Ganna.
The winners in the 21 km “Marathon For All” were Bardij Anatoli, Radcovski Artur, Levene Justin and Dmitriuc Nadejda, while the 42 km race was won by Ștefârță Ilie, Șuruta Serhii and Shobchinskaya Natalia.
The Chisinau International Marathon 2018 was organized by the sports organization Sporter and the free announcements board 999.md.
