Lithuania is an example for the Republic of Moldova in a series of important areas, such as energy efficiency, public order, defense and combating of hybrid threats. All these spheres are of strategic importance for the Republic of Moldova on the path of reforms and European modernization, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, stated in a farewell meeting with Lithuania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Kestutis Kudzmanas, who is completing his duties in Moldova, IPN reports.
Nicu Popescu said that contacts and cooperation between the local authorities will be further developed for the benefit of the two countries.
“I was assured that Lithuania remains a firm supporter of the European aspirations of the Republic of Moldova and, on this occasion, I reiterated our people’s gratitude for the assistance offered by Lithuania in obtaining the EU candidate status,” said the Moldovan official.
Kestutis Kudzmanas was appointed Ambassador of Lithuania to the Republic of Moldova in 2018. He is replaced by Tadas Valionis.
