Nicolae Furtună: There is pseudo-mask wearing in Moldova – on chin, under chin, on ear

The cases of COVID-19 will decrease if the Moldovan citizens change their behavior, said the director of the National Public Health Agency Nicolae Furtună. The functionary noted that there is pseudo-mask wearing in Moldova – on the chin, under the chin, on the ear or even on the elbow.

“One travels by trolleybus and adjusts the masks wherever they want, not yet on the face as they should wear it. When adjusting it, the person, using the hand with which this held the bar on the trolleybus, the virus is transmitted from the hand to the face and this is the critical moment,” Nicolae Furtună stated in the talk show “Fourth Power” on N4 channel.

He noted that this is the classical infection moment. “One should not kiss the seller and should not give her a hug or do something else to become infected as the virus is taken when adjusting the mask on the trolleybus,” said the functionary.

Nicolae Furtună also said that the protective mask should not be touched since leaving home unit returning home. When going to the shop, one should put the mask on while at home. When returning back home, one should wash the hands well, remove the mask and throw it into the garbage bin. “Mask can be now seen thrown everywhere and this is also an element of culture”.

The functionary added that the number of infections with the novel coronavirus can be reduced by modifying the behavior. “If we wander from one place to another, the infection risks will be bigger and we will not return to the expected normality soon.”
