New technology for accurate forecasting of renewable energy

Moldelectrica implemented a new technological tool designed to forecast the electricity generated from renewable sources, connected to the transmission network managed by the company, IPN reports.

According to Moldelectrica representatives, it is an advanced tool that allows monitoring and analyzing the production of energy from wind and photovoltaic sources, contributing to the generation of an accurate and predictable forecast of the injected energy flows.

The new technology contributes to increasing operational efficiency and aims to estimate electricity generation with higher accuracy.

The data published on the company's platform are available to all manufacturers and stakeholders for being potentially used in their activities.

At the end of last year, Moldelectrica issued connection permits for electricity production facilities, with a total capacity of 1,821 MW. Currently, 22 renewable energy sources are connected to the electrical grid operated by the company.

The data regarding the forecasted generation of renewable sources connected to the transmission grid managed by the company are processed on the platform Enercast, Moldelectrica said.
