New subdivision of Chisinau City Hall will attract investment from abroad

The Chisinau City Hall will have a new subdivision – the Investment Management Division – that will attract investments from financial organizations and international donors. At Monday’s meeting of the City Hall, Eugenia Ciumac, head of the Bookkeeping and Economic Analysis Division, said that the new division’s regulations will be drafted during the next two weeks. They will be later examined by the specialized commissions of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) and approved afterwards. The new division will have about 20 employees, economic and law specialists. A contest to select the staff will be held after the CMC approves the creation of the division. According to Eugenia Ciumac, the European Union offers a lot of financing opportunities through the Neighbourhood Policy. So far, the Chisinau City Hall obtained no EU-funded project, except the water supply and sewerage project financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Chisinau Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca voiced hope that the city administration will make the process of attracting projects with foreign financing more efficient by this yearned. He praised Gratiesti and Budesti villages of Chisinau municipality that managed to attract foreign financing and improve their infrastructure through projects.
