New sanitary-veterinary information system
It will be easier to discover and prevent contagious diseases of animal origin in the near future, Info-Prim Neo reports, making reference to the law on sanitary-veterinary activity published in the last number of the Official Gazette.
To implement this stipulation, the National Agency for Sanitary Veterinary Service and Safety of Animal Origin Products introduced a new information system in compliance with the given law. The system will be used to report any suspicion of animal disease.
The system will contain a component for the sanitary-veterinary notification and supervision of the transmissible diseases and infections caused by bacteria or viruses.
It will also contain the informational component INTRANET for administering in a new way the animal farms and companies, units, institutions that form the sanitary-veterinary services and those that are subjected to supervision and control. It will be thus possible to facilitate the dialogue between the competent sanitary-veterinary authorities so as to guarantee the safety and quality of the animal origin products.
Another component of the system will identify and record the animals with the aim of easing the communication between the central database and the bases of the district or municipal sanitary-veterinary divisions. An alert system will work to make the connection between the Agency and the sanitary-veterinary authorities on the one hand and the other authorities that ensure the continuous and efficient safety of animal origin products of any kind, on the other hand.
The system will offer the possibility of quickly supervising the import, export and transportation of the products subjected to sanitary-veterinary inspection. But this will be possible after the internal movement of the animals is monitored according to the methods of the information system.
