In connection with the increased risk of importation of the new variant of SARS-CoV-2, the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission imposed new restrictions on the entry into the Republic of Moldova that come into force on July 19, IPN reports.

The persons who spent the previous 14 days in one or several of the countries classed as green areas and will present the negative result of the PCR COVID-19 test done during 72 hours prior to the start of the journey in the case of persons travelling by transport running on regular routes or prior to the entry into Moldova in the case of persons travelling by personal cars will not have to quarantine. The confirmation should be in Romanian, English, French, German, Italian or Russian. All the others will self-isolate for 14 days.

Those who have a COVID-19 vaccine certificate in Romanian, English. French, German, Italian or Russian do not have to present a test result, on condition that vaccination was completed at least 14 days before the trip.

Children younger than six, students who come to study and the persons accompanying them and minors under 18 who are accompanied by persons with vaccine certificates, drivers and personnel of road freight and passenger transport motor vehicles with at most nine seats do not have to present the test result. This exception is valid until August 1, 2021.

Among those who are spared of the obligation to present the test result are also persons who travel for imperative health or humanitarian reasons, transfrontier workers, holders of diplomatic and service passports, persons possessing documents showing the presence of COVID-19 antibodies in Romanian, English, French, German, Italian or Russian that are valid for a period of 90 days of the examination.

The persons who are in quarantine, regardless of the area from which they came, can interrupt the self-isolation regime after the seventh day if they do a PCR COVID-19 test and its result is negative.
