The Ministry of Health reported 786 cases of the novel coronavirus on Wednesday, the highest number to be recorded in a day yet. Some 3,100 tests were carried out to detect the number.

14 more people – seven women and seven men, ages 58 to 90 – died from the disease.

MoH secretary Constantin Rîmiș reported that 3,438 tests were carried out in total, including 3,177 primary tests. From the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 266,000 tests were performed for 48,232 confirmed cases. For 1244 people the virus was fatal.

564 patients are currently in a serious condition and 35 others are connected to ventilators.

The number of recovered cases exceeds 36,000 and over 10,000 cases remain active.
