{Join us for Theater. Starting with September 8, the agency Info-Prim Neo will publish a series of news stories about the 2009-2010 theatrical season as seen by the Moldovan actors, with the prepared surprises}. The National Theater “Mihai Eminescu” is producing a new play. “Take, Ianke si Cadar” directed by Vitalie RusuI will be premiered on October 31, but the 2009-2010 season will be opened at the beginning of October with older plays, the theater's director Alexandru Cozub said. The play will involve practically the entire troupe – such famous actors as Nicolae Darie, Ion Mocanu, Angela Ciobanu, Petru Oistric and several young actors from the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts in Chisinau. “There will be two casts and we hope the performance will be a success,” Alexandru Cozub said. Another important event mentioned by Cozub is the National Theater Festival organized in concert with the Ministry of Culture. “It is sad that this festival did not take place last year. We hope to restore the tradition this year and to bring all our theaters together at the festival.” As to tours, Alexandru Cozub said that on October 3, 4 and 6, the National Theater will participate in the Children's Theater Festival hosted by the Bucharest-based “Ion Creanga” Theater with Vitalie Drucec's play “Harap Alb”. “Owing to the crisis, we cannot yet afford large-scale productions that cost a lot of money. However, a play produced with less money can be even better than a costly one. This year, we plan to stage at least three new plays,” Alexandru Cozub said.
