New party called PACE emerges on Moldovan political arena

The new Political Party PACE aims to be a pro-European, center-right party with a liberal-socialist doctrine, the initiative group that undertook to found the new party has said. According to a press release that is quoted by IPN, the initiative group includes personalities from different areas, but who didn’t enter politics earlier. The team consists of professionals from the fields of health, sport, business, research, arts, of famous people from the diaspora and known managers of public institutions, etc.

Gheorghe Cavcaliuc was chosen as the leader of the initiative group for the constitution of the Political Party PACE. In his speech, he said the creation of the initiative group is a new page in Moldova’s modern history and in the life of each member of the PACE team.

“Society is tired of irresponsible and incompetent politicians and of interminable political struggles that are given not to defend the objectives and rights of the people who delegated them to sit in Parliament, but for spheres of influence, money, seats and businesses of millions. The crisis generated by the pandemic revealed chronic, system problems in key areas in our country, namely the economic sector, social sphere, healthcare, education, foreign affairs and others. Corruption among politicians reached the highest possible level, which is a shameful record of which not even the great-grandchildren of the current MPs will get rid. But the most shameful and outrageous thing is that this controversial fame reached many countries and explanations about what is going on in Moldova have to be provided not by those to blame, but by all the citizens who suffer as a result of these criminal acts of politicians,” stated Gheorghe Cavcaliuc.

The meeting of the initiative group also discussed the founding of PACE local organizations and the approval of the party’s statutes and political program. It finally agreed the period for organizing and registering local organizations for collecting applications to join the party and the preliminary Conges holding date.

Gheorghe Cavcaliuc earlier worked as the deputy chief of the General Police Inspectorate during the government of the Democratic Party. He tendered his resignation from this post a year ago, on June 15, 2019.
