The Central Election Commission decided that new parliamentary elections will take place in single-member constituency No. 38 Hâncești municipality on March 15, 2020.

Democratic MP Alexandru Botnari vacated the seat of MP he won in this constituency and this seat is to be now filled. The Commission approved a draft decision to this effect on December 27.

Alexandru Botnari was elected mayor of the municipality of Hâncești in the November 3 runoffs.

Update: The expenditure estimate for organizing and holding the new parliamentary elections in Hâncești municipality was approved at 4.6 million lei.
