Vladimir Bolea, Daniela Misail-Nikitin and Ludmila Catlabuga were sworn in at a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace. Thus, the new Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the new Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry and the new Minister of Internal Affairs are officially in office from today, November 19, IPN reports.
President Maia Sandu said that the priorities in the field of internal affairs are clear. Speeding up the negotiation process with the European Union is the top priority and increasing the capacity of the subordinate institutions and improving the cooperation of these institutions, so that the citizens are and feel safe, are the next priorities.
The head of state welcomed to the government team the new Minister of Agriculture. According to Maia Sandu, Ludmila Catlabuga showed professionalism and courage in a difficult area, and now she will have to manage a field with many problems.
President Maia Sandu thanked Vladimir Bolea for the transformations he ensured in agriculture, specifying that he is now taking over a broad field, with many responsibilities and with a major impact on the majority of citizens. "The programs and projects for which the Ministry you will lead is responsible contribute in the most direct way to increasing the standard of living of the people. That is why the speed with which we move and the quality of actions are very important," Maia Sandu said at the swearing-in ceremony.
For his part, Prime Minister Dorin Recean told Daniella Misail-Nikitin that "the police of the Republic of Moldova have already demonstrated performance in the fight against electoral corruption, as well as a growing capacity to ensure public order. We want the same visible performance, which is for the benefit of the people, to be ensured in the other subdivisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs." Dorin Recean also welcomed Ludmila Catlabuga to the Cabinet of Ministers: "I’m confident that, just as you built agriculture with high added value for your family, you will be able to reproduce this experience at country level." The Prime Minister thanked Vladimir Bolea for transforming one sector and urged him to start to do the same in another sector. "The construction sector must be revitalized because it is a contributor and an engine of economic growth," said Dorin Recean.
Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, who until now held the position of Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, took over the portfolio of infrastructure and regional development, following Andrei Spînu’s resignation. Ludmila Catlabuga, who is a businesswoman, takes over the management of the Ministry of Agriculture. Daniella Misail-Nikitin replaces Adrian Efros, who tendered his resignation from the position of Minister of Internal Affairs on Monday evening.
