The Cabinet approved the regulations concerning the organization and functioning of the National Council for Determining Disability and Work Capacity and the instructions concerning disability degree determination, which are designed to improve the process of determining disability by ensuring correctness, impartiality and transparency, IPN reports.

The regulations provide that local bodies of the Council will be set up in each raion or municipality and in each district of Chisinau municipality. These will ensure at the local level the compilation and transmission of files for determining the disability degree and the applicants will not need to travel to other territorial-administrative units. The local bodies will compile electronic files and files on paper and will pass these on to the registration and archive bureau of the Service for Determining the Disability Degree.

The person will not be required to attend the procedure for determining the disability degree and the front office and back office principles will be used in the working process. The persons who cannot move will be able to submit the application and required documents online or by proxy.

There will be 12 teams for determining the disability degree for adults and three such teams for children. Three control services will be created to ensure the correctness of the procedure for determining the disability degree and to examine complaints from authorities and people.
