Students in technical vocational education institutions will have the opportunity to learn renewable energy trades. The action is possible thanks to a project launched by the International Labor Organization, with the support of the governments of Austria and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
At the launch event of the “Competences for green transition and sustainable development” project, Education state secretary Galina Rusu said that the implementation of sustainable development and continuous training programs represents a firm commitment of the Republic of Moldova in fulfilling the global objectives of sustainable economy. “The Ministry expresses its confidence that, together with the activities of the project, we will ensure the training of skills in the field of renewable energy, thus contributing to the transformation of the vocational technical education system and to increasing the employment rate of the graduates of these programs”, said Galina Rusu.
The initiative will be implemented over the next three years and includes the development of new occupational and qualification standards, new curricula, strengthening employers’ capacities and providing vocational education institutions with modern equipment.
