The Court of Chisinau City has a new interim president. Constantin Damaschin was appointed to this post on Tuesday by the Superior Council of Magistracy. Livia Mitrofan, who was acting as interim president, was seconded to the SCM as a substitute member on February 12, IPN reports.

SCM chairman Sergiu Caraman said that with the secondment of Livia Mitrofan to the SCM, the post falls vacant and should be filled until the president of the Court of Chisinau City is appointed. The contest to choose a candidate is ongoing.

Constantin Damaschin has the longest seniority in work compared to the other vice-presidents of the court. His administrative skills were also invoked.
