The sociopolitical movement “New Force” will merge with the party “United Moldova”, but not sooner than after the local elections. The two organizations will take part in the June 5 elections en bloc, together with the Republican People’s Party. Related statements were made by the movement’s chairman Valeriu Plesca in a news conference on April 12, Info-Prim Neo reports. Valeriu Plesca said that the agreement to constitute the political bloc “Force III” is to be signed by the three parties the coming days. Negotiations are also conducted with the leaders of other extraparliamentary parties. The former Minister of Defense considers that this political bloc will be a worthy opponent for the most powerful parties as they reached a consensus as regards the union of several forces. He could not confirm that he will run for the mayoralty of Chisinau on behalf of the bloc, but said he will not reject such a proposal if his colleagues put it forward. On March 23, the sociopolitical movement “New Force” and the Republican People’s Party headed by Nicolae Andronic announced that they intend to merge with the party “United Moldova”. Recently, the leader of “United Moldova” Vladimir Turcanu stated for Info-Prim Neo that Valeriu Plesca may be the party’s candidate for mayor general of Chisinau.
