Prime Minister Maia Sandu introduced the new Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Vadim Brînzan to the personnel of the Ministry on June 17. The Premier noted the new minister worked in the U.S. where he learned good practices that can be implemented in Moldova, IPN reports.
“I hope that you, together with him, will do things in the people’s interests,” Maia Sandu stated, addressing the employees of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.
She stated that among Vadim Brînzan’s tasks are to counteract the misappropriation of public funds and to create a favorable environment for the development of the economy.
For his part, Vadim Brînzan said he will focus on the identification of illegal transactions, de-monopolization and building of a competitive economy, denationalization that would attract foreign investment, including to state-owned companies, and real development of the economy.
Vadim Brînzan, 48, graduated from the Harvard University. Since 2000 until recently, he worked at a number of financial institutions in the U.S. He is fluent in Romanian, Russian and English.
