The two-year-old child from Ungheni fell into the void after the mother put the stroller between the elevator doors and turned to get a bag. At that point, she heard a noise. The boy fell into the shaft when the elevator went up to one of the upper floors, IPN reports.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said the boy fell from the 6th floor and was taken out of the elevator shaft on the ground floor. The child was conscious.

It happened in Ungheni town on Ghenadie Crestiuc St, at 08:20 a.m.

In an extremely serious condition, the child was taken to the Ungheni District Hospital from where he is to be transferred to Chisinau.
