With the support of the Polish government, the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery in Chisinau has installed a new modern elevator in Block 1 to move patients from one floor to another.
The previous practice of lifting patients manually using stretchers carried increased risks, in particular for critical patients. The new elevator, worth 588,000 lei, removes these risks in addition to relieving hospital aides of an unnecessary nuisance.
The project was implemented with the support of the Poland Aid Program through the Polish Embassy in Chisinau.
Buying the elevator for the Neurology Institute is part of a series of assistance projects implemented in Moldova by the Polish Embassy under the Poland Aid Program. The program aims to contribute to the development and modernization of rural infrastructure, urban revitalization, as well as projects to support the health care system in our country.
In 2021, such projects included improved access to water supply in Bahmut, installation of street and tourist signage in Cimișlia, installation of street lights in Hiliuți, improved infrastructure for the vocational school Mihail Çakir in Comrat, and renovation of the medical center in Blizhni Khutor, the Transnistrian region.
