Network of model schools expanded by modernizing "Mihai Eminescu" school in Cahul

Over 1,200 students of "Mihai Eminescu" high school in Cahul will enjoy better study conditions. In the next period, the educational process and infrastructure of the high school will be modernized, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the works have reached the design stage. Also, discussions between the high school’s administration and the team of designers and engineers took place.

Thus, better conditions will be enjoyed not only by the 1,200 students of the high school, but also by the over 300 children that the institution will welcome additionally.

"Mihai Eminescu" Theoretical High School is part of the Model Schools Network, a national program launched by the Ministry of Education and Research to renovate and comprehensively outfit 35 general education institutions in the country.

Investments in 15 schools out of the 35 were allocated by the World Bank. The other schools will be modernized with the help of development partners, such as the European Union, UNDP, UNICEF, USAID and other international organizations. About €70 million is needed to modernize the 35 schools. The Ministry of Education obtained €52 million from international partners.
