Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco, stated during the "360 de grade" show on Radio Moldova that the simple motion submitted by the opposition for her dismissal is proof that the Ministry of Health is doing its job well. According to the minister, the opposition is disturbed by the reforms implemented in the healthcare system, which have led to the modernization of medical equipment in Moldova’s hospitals, IPN reports.
On February 13, the parliamentary opposition submitted a simple motion requesting the dismissal of Minister Ala Nemerenco, citing deficiencies in the management of the medical system. However, she rejected the accusations, stating that the opposition’s actions are politically motivated and do not reflect the reality of the healthcare sector.
"We are indeed shaking up the disastrous healthcare system by equipping it with CT scanners, angiographs, new medicines, and free procedures for patients. The fact that the opposition submits motions proves that we are doing our job very well and that we are disturbing the opposition a lot," said Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco.
Referring to the tragic cases of pregnant women who have died, the minister mentioned that, for the first time in the history of the Republic of Moldova, maternal mortality has been reduced to a minimum level, comparable to that of developed countries.
"Regarding maternal mortality, I want to say that previously Moldova recorded 10-16 cases per year. In 2023-2024, for the first time in 30 years, we achieved the lowest rate. In 2024, there have been two cases, and in 2023 – three. We have brought this indicator to a level close to that of the most developed countries," Nemerenco stated.
According to the law, the debate on the simple motion takes place on a date set by the Permanent Bureau within 14 working days from the submission. To pass the parliamentary vote, the motion must be supported by at least 51 deputies.
