Negotiations on natural gas supplies to Moldova postponed 2 weeks

The Moldovan delegation, already for the third days on a visit to Moscow, did not manage to come to an agreement with the Russian Company „Gazprom” over the new gas supply contract. The negotiations related to this item will be resumed on June 19, according to the Russian press. Ruslan Flocea, counselor of the prime deputy prime minister Zinaida Grecianii, the head of the delegation at negotiations, said that for the moment he was not informed about it and only in the afternoon the results will be known, on the negotiators’ arrival to Chisinau. Previously, the Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev mentioned that the talks with the Russian Federation are carried out rather difficult. Independent experts share the opinion that the Moldovan officials will not manage to obtain a price lower than USD 160 per 1,000 cubic meters. According to the current contract, which expires on June 30, R. Moldova imports Russian natural gas at a price of USD 110 per 1000 cubic meters, compared to USD 80 previously.
