Nearly 10 million lei spent on campaign so far
The political parties registered with the Central Election Commission (CEC) as electoral competitors have spent a total of 9.45 million lei on their campaigns so far, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The greatest spendings on publicity were made by the Social-Democratic Party (PSD) – more than 2.6 million lei. The Moldovan Communists Party (PCRM) reported to CEC expenditures of over 2.3 million lei, while the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) completes the top-three with 1.6 million lei spent.
The Democratic Party (PDM) has spent slightly over one million lei for this purpose. Four other parties declared their expenses haven't exceeded 1 million lei – this is the case of the Moldova Noastra Alliance (AMN), with 835,000 lei, The Liberal Party (PL), with 560,000 lei, and the Christina Democratic People's Party , with 277,000 lei.
The smallest amount was spent by the Centrist Union of Moldova (UCM) – 111,000 lei.
The Conservative Party (PC) and the European Action Movement (MAE) claimed they haven't spent a dime on promotion thus far.
Each party is allowed to spend no more than 12 million lei on the campaign. The upper limit for the independent candidates is 500,000 lei.
Once in two weeks the electoral competitors must account for their campaign expenditures and report all donations and incomes to CEC.
