NATO Parliamentary Assembly delegation to visit Chisinau

A delegation of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly will pay a fact-finding visit to Chisinau on March 24-25. The officials will discuss with the authorities the security challenges in the region and possibilities of cooperation to maintain stability, IPN reports.

The delegation is scheduled to meet with Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, President Maia Sandu, hairman of the Parliament’s Committee on National Security, Defense and Public Order Lilian Carp, as well as Ministers Mihai Popșoi, Oleg Serebrian, Anatolie Nosatyi, and Dorin Junghietu.

A public debate centering on Moldova's cooperation with NATO will be held. The meeting will involve representatives of civil society and academia.

The delegation consists of members of the NATO PA Subcommittee on Transatlantic Defense and Security Co-operation and the Subcommittee on Transition and Development. The visit is made to highlight that regional security remains a priority and the discussions will focus on measures that need to be taken to ensure stability and cooperation.
