National women’s football team suffers new defeat in qualifiers

The national women’s football team of Moldova suffered the third defeat in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2017 qualifying competition. The squad trained by Alina Stetsenko lost to Slovakia 0-4 in the evening of October 26, IPN reports.

The goals for the hosts were scored by Alexandra Biroova (50th minute), Dominika Skorvankova (85th), Dana Feckova (81th) and Jana Vojtekova (87th-penalty). Slovakia was earlier beaten by Poland 0-2. Moldova also lost the matches against Sweden (0-3) and Denmark (0-4) and is the only one that didn’t scored points in Group 4.

Moldova qualified for the second round after winning the mini-tournament that took place in Vadul-lui-Voda town. Among its adversaries there were Lithuania, Latvia, and Luxemburg.
