National Wine Day: about 70 wineries and over 100 thousand visitors

About 70 wineries will participate this year in the XIIX edition of the National Wine Day. This year the holiday will cover a larger surface area of around 25 thousand square meters, from the Great National Assembly Square to the pedestrian street. It will also expand from geographical point of view, through the participation of music ensembles from Romania and Ukraine. The organizers say they expect more than 100 thousand visitors, IPN reports.

At a press conference, the Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment, Georgeta Mincu, stated that the Republic of Moldova succeeded in imposing high quality standards, so that today Moldova would be among the top ten wine exporters in the world. "Every winemaker working in the vineyard to obtain good products, will be celebrated during the first weekend of October," the minister said.

According to the director of the Office of Vine and Wine/ OVV, Gheorghe Arpentin, over 1600 people and 15 companies have been involved in the organization of the celebration. During the holiday, 12 restaurants and cafes will offer their dishes. The Director of the OVV argues that this year, as in previous years, responsible wine consumption will be promoted, marked glasses will be offered and three thousand ethanol tests will be made available.

The holiday will begin in the Great National Assembly Square, where the stands of the 70 winemakers will be placed, according on the indicated geographical areas which they represent. The wineries will offer to guests wines from the 2019 vintage as well as matured wines, they will launch new products and organize guided tastings, while visitors will be able to buy wines at discount prices.

At the entrances to the Wine Town will operate an infopoint, where visitors will be able to find out information about the program of the event and will be able to buy the Tasting Book, as well as promotional materials with the visual identity of the event. The book includes 12 tickets for 12 tastings, a ticket for discounts on promotional materials and a pass with which they will be able to circulate free in the municipal public transport. The price of the tasting book is of 200 lei if purchased until the event, and of 250 lei if purchased on the day of the event.

In Orășelul Vinului there will be arranged several areas: relaxation, gastronomic, educational, concerts and adventures. Also, the guests of the capital will be able to see various autumn activities and works in the Countryside Yard and the Crafts Area.

The evening will culminate with a concert on the pedestrian street. Local and foreign singers will perform: the "Via Daca" band, Pasha Parfeni, Tharmis, Lupii si Calancea Band, Dj Marcus Lower, LUIKU from Ukraine, Vița de Vie from Romania and Niko de Transylvania from Romania.

The National Wine Day will be held on October 5 and 6.
