The first international juniors women’s water polo tournament held in Chisinau involved four teams, of Moldova, Bulgaria and Ukraine and H2O Targu Mures of Romania, IPN reports.

Moldova scored two victories in the qualifying rounds and tied with Bulgaria. The two teams then meat in the final. Moldova scored a 9-8 victory and thus won the competition. Tamara Dremuh of Moldova was named the best player of the competition.

The national team of Ukraine ranked second. The tournament was hosted by the Chisinau Specialized Sports School No.4.
