National volleyball team scores two victories in qualifying rounds

The national men’s volleyball team of Moldova won two victories and suffered three defeats in the qualifying rounds of the FIVB Volleyball World Championship that was held in the Netherlands. Moldova ended the qualifying competition with two victories, IPN reports.

Initially, the team trained by Artur Romascan beat Luxemburg 3-2 and then won the last match against Austria 3-1 after losing the first set. Thus, Moldova prevented Austria from qualifying. The Netherlands and Slovakia, which beat Moldova 3-0, earned qualification. Moldova was also defeated by Greece 1-3.

In these matches, coach Artur Romascan used the following players: Pavel Cimil, Alexandru Shcheglov, Mihail Voleanschi, Maxim Cojocaru, Igor Didorciuc, Vladimir Stelmah, Marin Lescov, Pavel Mocanu, Serghei Predius, Vasile Talpa, Roman Dudicov, Iurie Pantir, and Dumitru Bahov.
