The entrepreneurs who want to start a business in rural tourism will be able to use the guidebook “Organization and management of businesses in the area of rural tourism” that was launched by the Tourism Agency. The Agency’s director general Nicolae Platon said studies showed that most of the foreign tourists visiting Moldova express interest in rural tourism, but this area is not sufficiently developed, IPN reports.

“Currently, there are 20 tourist accommodation facilities in rural areas, classed as agri-tourist pensions. This is an insufficient number for our country. To help those who want to start a business in rural tourism and to create jobs, we produced this guide that explains all the procedures for opening an agri-tourist pension, the legal norms and the possibilities of attracting international projects to this field,” stated Nicolae Platon.

The Tourism Agency also launched the book “Tourist exhibition of the Republic of Moldova”. It was printed in Romanian and English and familiarizes tourists with ten reasons for which they should visit Moldova, presenting also the country’s tourist potential. The book will be offered mainly to the heads of delegations visiting Moldova. Another book – “Retrospective of Moldova’s tourism” – describes the history of the Moldovan tourism since 1959, when the first organized groups of tourists started to come to the country, until 2014.

“The guidebook of tourist roads in the Republic of Moldova” is a monograph that describes 20 tourist roads of the country, with details about the tourist facilities in each district and with information about all the pensions and hotels and about the public eateries with national and international particularities. The guide was issued in a limited number of copies owing to the lack of funds and is to be transmitted to the tourism departments of universities and to all the national libraries. When financial resources are identified, the monograph will be available from bookshops too.
