National rugby team suffer surprising defeat

The national rugby team of Moldova surprisingly lost 10-18 to the Netherlands in Amsterdam, suffering thus the first defeat in Group 1B of the European Nations Cup, IPN reports.

“We are dissatisfied with the refereeing. The referee didn’t award us a number of goals,” vice president of the Moldovan Rugby Federation Veaceslav Bulai has told a TV channel.

Even if Moldova suffered a defeat, it continues to hold the lead in Group 1B with 15 points. Poland ranks second with nine points in three matches, while Belgium is the third with eight points, but has played only two matches so far. The Netherlands takes the last position.
