The draw for the first qualifying round of the 2017 Men’s European Volleyball Championship was held. The national team of Moldova will play in a group with Austria, Lithuania, and Luxemburg. The games will take place next May in Luxemburg, IPN reports.

In the previous qualifying competition, Moldova emerged victorious in all the three rounds. “Even if we are not favorites on paper, I’m convinced that we will manage to qualify for the second round. We have a good team,” vice president of the Moldovan Volleyball Federation Alexandru Stratan has told IPN.

The national women’s volleyball team of Moldova hasn’t yet entered the international competitions owing to the shortage of funds.
