National Institute of Physical Education and Sports will be reorganized
The National Institute of Physical Education and Sports (NIPES) will be reorganized into the State University of Physical Education and Sports (SUPES).
According to a presidential decree signed by Vladimir Voronin, the State University of Physical Education and Sports is a state undergraduate study institution, subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Youth, which undertakes its activities as a legal person, based on its own statute.
According to the Decree, the SUPES financing will be done from the budget approved by the Ministry of Education and Youth according the budget law for the current year.
The Decree also stipulates that the Ministry of Education and Youth will approve the SUPES statute within a month and will annually set the admittance seats for each specialty.
According to a press release of the Presidency, the head of state has ordered the reorganization of the National Institute into the State University “with the goal to more efficiently promote the state policy of physical education and sports at the suggestion of the Government”.
There are 35 undergraduate study institutions with approximately 115 thousand enrolled students in the Republic of Moldova.
