National Health Insurance Company warns public of new scam

If you receive phone calls about supposed overdue payments on your mandatory health insurance, call the police. In a warning issued on Wednesday, the National Health Insurance Company CNAM says a new scam is in town, where unidentified fraudsters posing as CNAM employees call people and ask them for their bank details.

“Do not transmit money or personal information in such situations. This is a fraudulent scheme”.

As regards Moldovan citizens living abroad, CNAM recalls that those residing outside the country for 183 days or longer during a budget year are not required to pay the mandatory premium for that year.

Those willing to check out their status in the mandatory health insurance system or have questions related to health insurance can access the CNAM website at the Services section, Status Check subsection, or call the helpline 0 800 99999.
