In preparation for the qualifying rounds of the 2018 European Futsal Championship, the national team of Moldova played two friendly matches against Azerbaijan.
Moldova suffered two defeats, 1-6 and 2-3. In the second match, Vladimir Vusaty’s team led by 2-0, after Sergiu Tacot and Sergiu Nicolaichuk scored by a goal. On April 3, Moldova plays a friendly against Latvia at the Futsal Arena FMF in Ciorescu.
In the first main round of the European Futsal Championship, Moldova plays in a group with current European champion Spain, Serbia and Poland, which hosts the mini-tournament during April 8-11.
