National COVID-19 vaccine coverage at 20%

Since the COVID-19 vaccination campaign was launched in Moldova (March 2), over 1.3 million vaccine doses have been administered in the country. The national coverage with one dose is 21.96%, while with two doses is 20.61%, show data of the Ministry of Health. 89.28% of the health workers were vaccinated with one dose, while 87.74% with both of the doses, IPN reports.

The rate of vaccination with two doses is the highest in the municipality of Chisinau – 33%, Soroca district – 23% and Dubăsari district – 23%. The lowest rate, of 12-15%, is in the districts of Leova, Sângerei and ATU Gagauzia. The vaccination rate is low primarily among the people aged between 18 and 29.

Fewer than 1,500 adverse events have been reported so far, with 92.8% of them being mild forms, while 7.2% being moderate forms. There were recorded no severe forms.

By now, Moldova received over 1.6 million COVID-19 vaccine doses.
