The National Army undergoes a complex modernization process that will enable it to strengthen the defense capabilities. The militaries’ professionalism is highly appreciated and this makes Moldova demonstrate that it is not only a security consumer, but also has capacities to provide security in the world, Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatyi stated in the military ceremony held to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the founding of the National Army. In the event, militaries were handed over orders and medals, IPN reports.
Anatolie Nosatyi said that in time, the personnel of the National Army experienced a series of challenges, but managed to overcome them and become a strong institution that daily ensures peace in the interests of citizens. He expressed his gratitude to all those who, since the National Army was created, have served in the Amy, holding different posts and made maximum effort to transform the Army into a credible institution at national and international levels. In this difficult period, the citizens need safety and peace and the militaries are those who ensure this.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean said the militaries are not only a defense force, but also the expression of solidary of all the people, which needs to be cared for and developed. The army inspires with confidence, protects the democratic values of the state that wants prosperity for its citizens. The experience of other neutral states, such as Switzerland, shows that a well-equipped army strengthens national security, while neutrality is only a foreign policy instrument.
During September 4-6, the National Army Day will be celebrated at the Moldova State University, the Balti State University “Alecu Russo” and the Cahul State University “Bogdan Petriceicu Hașdeu” where the administration of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, alongside service members and civilian employees, will give public lessons under the theme “National Army, guarantor of peace and security for 32 years”.
The National Army was founded on September 3, 1991 by a decree signed by the President of the Republic of Moldova.
