Municipality promises to provide summer rest for every fourth child from Chisinau
The Capital’s mayoralty will ensure this year the summer rest of about 23,000 of Chisinau municipality in 66 camps, including 9 camps with permanent regime. The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) approved this decision on Thursday, 18 May.
Thus, according to the CMC decision, 25% of holiday tickets will be provided for free to children of the disadvantaged families, and children of the boarding-schools will rest for free, for 3 months, in the „Alunelul” and „Ciresarii” camps. For the rest, 20% of the tickets’ cost will be paid by the parents, and the rest of the money provided from the local budget.
According to the head of Education, Youth and Sports Department (DGETS), Alexandru Roman, the price of a ticket in the camps per one day of rest is of 300 lei, and in camps with permanent regime - between 800-1,000 lei, depending on the conditions provided. He noted that this year the children will rest for 15 days, compared to 10 days as the last year.
Roman also said that in two localities of municipality, Bacioi and Ciorescu, there will be organized day-time camps on the account of mayoralties’ own resources, and in the rest of villages there will be organized 8 day-time camps, financed from the municipal budget. At the same time, 10-15% of pupils from suburbs will benefit of holiday tickets in camps with permanent regime.
For the first time in last years, the councilors included in the decision purchasing of 400 holiday tickets at the health resort „Speranta” from Sergheevca, Ukraine, for children with disabilities of respirator and locomotor’s systems. This happened s day after the Commission for budget, economy, finance and local public patrimony of CMC rejected this proposal, motivating by the lack of resources, being needed about 520,000 lei. CMC required the General Finance Department to collect these resources, as well as other 3,5 million lei additionally necessary for organizing the summer rest.
The decision on children’s summer rest was approved after a part of the councilors formulated many objections toward DGETS, as well as to the head of this subdivision, Alexandru Roman. Several councilors required Roman’s sanctioning on the ground that the decision draft was prepared unprofessionally and was not presented two months before. Roman avoided the sanction due to the support vote of the faction of the Communist Party.
For the children’s summer rest about 13 million lei are foreseen from the local budget, compared to the necessary of 17 million.
