Municipality ordered to stop adjusting energy meters
The General Dwelling-Communal Division (GDCD) ordered to install new locks in the buildings where thermal energy meters are mounted.
Thus, the dwellers responsible for the meters will no longer have the right to operate the meter switches during milder weather. They will have access to the meters only accompanied by a person in charge from the municipal enterprise or from “Termocom”, GDCD head Mihai Solcan says.
According to Solcan, the past years and the recent experience shows that the managers receive numerous petitions complaining about low temperatures in apartments due to meters resetting.
Sales director of “Termocom” JSC Mihai Arusoi claims that resetting of the meters leads to failures of the process of supplying apartment blocks with heat.
Interim mayor of the capital Vasile Ursu backed this decision emphasizing that the adjustment of the temperature of the delivered heat must be operated only by the supplier.
At present, the residents that have access to the thermal energy meters pay the heat bills only 50%. The other half is proportionally paid by the other dwellers of the block.
