About 170 million lei was allocated by the municipality for the repair of 195 educational institutions in Chisinau, Andrei Pavaloi, deputy head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, stated in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, IPN reports.

Out of 195 institutions for which funds were allocated, the repair works in 69 of them were finished, while in another 102 institutions, the renovation works are in full swing. In eight educational institutions, the contracts were signed and repair works are to be initiated. Other intuitions are involved in disputes or are working out the specifications, said Andrei Pavaloi.  

The quality of repair works is checked by district education divisions. All the repair works are to be completed by August 25 so that the educational process could start on September 1. If particular repair works are overdue on September 1, they could be performed in parallel with the educational process.

Andrei Pavaloi also said that the trees within the precincts of educational institutions are being trimmed, while the trees that are close to roofs and those that pose a threat to life and health are being felled.
