Municipality Council will examine on Thursday the city’s designing, repairing and reconstruction schedule
The Committee for Budget, Economy, Finance and Public Assets of the Chisinau Municipality Council approved on Monday, 10th of April a financing agenda of the objectives that have to be repaired or reconstructed this year. In order to come into force the document has to be approved on the Municipality Council meeting on Thursday.
According to the timetable presented by the interim Mayor of Chisinau, Vasile Ursu, the biggest amount of financial resources - 66 million lei will be used for repairing the districts of Chisinau. For designing and reconstructing the Northern Bus Station 53 million lei will be allocated, 50 million lei for the roadways repairing and other 50 million lei for the repairing of the roadway to Airport.
The project stipulates financial resources for the reconstruction of the Pan Halipa Street, for repairing several artesian fountains, construction of a trolleybus way to the Agrarian University, designing and rebuilding the Station for residual water biological refinement.
Because of the lack of resources the councillors determined the financial priorities as follows: elaboration of the General City Plan of the Chisinau Municipality, then the reconstruction of the “Nasterea Domnului” cathedral and changing the activity destination of the maternity hospital from the Ciocana region into a shelter for homeless old people and children.
The interim Mayor, cited by Info-Prim Neo, emphasized that the total value of the works is nearly 360 million lei, and the municipality already has 190 million lei that were initially destined for being transferred to the state budget for “territory development”. He said that the municipality and the central authorities decided that those 190 million lei will be used for city repairing. Ursu mentioned that for collecting the rest of the sum the municipality will take a 50 million lei credit and the rest of the money are supposed to be taken from the over-accumulations to the local budget.
The Municipality Council decided to make a list of priorities in February this year, after all the financial resources included in the municipal budget for the year 2006 were distributed for capital investments.
