Ten young people from Chisinau received the Municipal Youth Award. The contest involved 15 applicants, with the winners being chosen by an independent commission. The winners got diplomats, medals and money awards, IPN reports.
Rodica Guțu, head of the General Education, Youth and Sport Division, said the results achieved by the children and young people are the most important ones. This event was like a revision of the Division’s successes this year.
Deputy mayor Angela Kutasevich noted the goal of the contest is to stimulate and help the young people from the municipality of Chisinau to realize their intellectual, artistic and creative potential. “For us, it is important to have young people with ideas who will promote the change,” stated the official.
Zina Bivol was awarded for a book entitled “Woman who tastes of milk”, which is her sixth book, but the first of the book-blog category. The writer was fielded for the contest by the Writers Union of Moldova. “I’m sure I will not disappoint as I like to work, to enjoy success and, first of all, to be at peace with myself,” stated Zina Bivol. The book has three volumes and the woman appears in a new position in each of the volumes. “It is about three women who live in one person.”
Cardiologist Irina Cabac-Pogorevici was awarded for research activity. She tried to determine the indirect, noninvasive parameters for identifying the persons with the highest risk and in need of early surgery among the hypertensive patients. She said she will use the 10,000 lei award to continue her research.
The Municipal Youth Award is provided annually for achievements in science, technology, literature, arts and for civic activism.
