The commission for construction, architecture and land resources (CCARF) shall explore this week the plan of pacing the parking in municipality Chisinau and to submit it to Municipal Council for approval, if it is accepted. The interim mayor of municipality Chisinau, Vasile Ursu, required previously to persons responsible within the municpal services to finalise in March all the activities regarding the drafting of the necessary papers for re-starting in April parking activity. According to deputy head of Architecture and Urbanism Department (DAU), Nicon Zaporojan, in the plan submitted for approval to CCARF, parking placed in the municipality shall ensure the parking for a short time for about 2,000 transport units. Parking placement, according to this plan, shall be solved shortly, as in order to place them there will not be necessary to cut off trees or to enlarge the streets. According to him, because of the fact that many businessmen and organisations submitted over 500 applications of placing the parking, DAU is open to get and examine further other applications as well. Previously, Vasile Ursu required to solve the issue of parking in Chisinau, being intrigued by the situation created related with illegal parking of private transport on pavement, especially in the centre of the city, fact considered as inappropriate in conditions when the pavement is destroyed and creates incommodities to pedestrians. Local authorities’ actions regarding parking are motivated by the fact that the government shall approve soon the regulation on parking activity.
