Municipal authorities do not guarantee that in October, month tickets for the municipal transport will be cheaper, although they will not be sold at the previously settled price. And this fact happens despite the solicitation of the PM Vasile Tarlev, addressed to the City Hall to urgently revise the cost of the month tickets. The PM solicited to withdraw the month tickets with the prices settled for September, considering unjustified the price increases operated by authorities both for student’ and adults’ month tickets. The deputy Mayor Veaceslav Iordan told Info-Prim Neo that a draft decision on decreasing the cost already exists, but it was not examined so far by any commission of the Municipal Council. At the same time, authorities from the City Hall declared that no meeting of the Municipal Council is planned for this week and it is not sure one will be organized next week. Although, the prime-minister asked to halt selling month tickets at the announced price starting September 1, Veaceslav Iordan said that to this date, already 86% of them were already prepared for sale. Previously, local authorities declared that they do not agree with the decrease in price for month tickets if the Government will not compensate losses, because in case of price cuttings, the municipal transportation enterprises would lose MDL 19 mln until the end of the year. Local authorities say that the prices of the month tickets destined to students increased proportionally to the travel tariffs. For pupils the prices of trolleybus month tickets increased by MDL 20, being sold with MDL 55 on September 1, and those for students – by MDL 30, their prices amounting to MDL 75 each. The cost for bus month tickets for grownups has doubled and amounted to MDL 130. The month tickets in trolleybuses cost MDL 50 for pupils, MDL 75 for students and MDL 120 for grownups. Previously, their price was MDL 22, 33 and respectively 55.
