MPs will not postpone their vacation to discuss situation in agriculture
The Standing Bureau of the Parliament did not accept the request of 35 opposition MPs to hold extraordinary sittings in order to examine the situation occurred in agriculture as a result of drought.
Speaker Marian Lupu told the last sitting of the Parliament that the Standing Bureau has decided to ask the Government to work out a programme of measures in order to ensure the capitalisation of the financial means approved by the Parliament in this respect and to undertake all the necessary measures to improve the situation in agriculture. Also, the Government will work out a report until September on the analysis of the problems in the field and will inform the Parliament about the measures taken.
If need be, the Speaker of the Parliament will summon the MPs in reasonable time to debate the issues related to agriculture.
