Parliament observed a moment’s silence in memory of poet Andrei Strâmbeanu at the beginning of its August 6 sitting, IPN reports.
“With deep sadness, I announce that poet, playwright and publicist Andrei Strâmbeanu passed away in the evening of August 4. In 1958-2001, he sat on the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. I ask you to observe a moment’s silence,” stated Igor Grosu.
In another development, given the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, Igor Grosu called on his mates to wear the masks appropriately out of respect for doctors.
The Speaker also congratulated the workers of the building sector who traditionally celebrate their professional day on the second Sunday in August.
